چکیده

We show how a polynomial-time prover can commit to an arbitrary finite set S of strings so that, later on, he can, for any string x, reveal with a proof whether x 2 S or x 62 S, without revealing any knowledge beyond the verity of these membership assertions. Our method is non interactive. Given a public random string, the prover commits to a set by simply posting a short and easily computable message. After that, each time it wants to prove whether a given element is in the set, it simply posts another short and easily computable proof, whose correctness can be verified by any one against the public random string. Our scheme is very efficient; no reasonable prior way to achieve our desiderata existed. Our new primitive immediately extends to providing zero-knowledge “databases.”

Zero sets in pointfree topology and strongly $z$-ideals

In this paper a particular case of z-ideals, called strongly z-ideal, is defined by introducing zero sets in pointfree topology. We study strongly z-ideals, their relation with z-ideals and the role of spatiality in this relation. For strongly z-ideals, we analyze prime ideals using the concept of zero sets. Moreover, it is proven that the intersection of all zero sets of a prime ideal of C(L),...

INDEPENDENT SETS OF SOME GRAPHS ASSOCIATED TO COMMUTATIVE RINGS

Let $G=(V,E)$ be a simple graph. A set $Ssubseteq V$ isindependent set of $G$,  if no two vertices of $S$ are adjacent. The  independence number $alpha(G)$ is the size of a maximumindependent set in the graph. In this paper we study and characterize the independent sets ofthe zero-divisor graph $Gamma(R)$ and ideal-based zero-divisor graph $Gamma_I(R)$of a commutative ring $R$.

A Zero Knowledge Proof for Subset Selection from a Family of Sets with Applications to Multiparty/Multicandidate Electronic Elections

We present a methodology for proving in Zero Knowledge the validity of selecting a subset of a set belonging to predefined family of sets. We apply this methodology in electronic voting to provide for extended ballot options. Our proposed voting scheme supports multiple parties and the selection of a number of candidates from one and only one of these parties. We have implemented this system an...

Statistical Zero-Knowledge Proofs from Diophantine Equations

A family (St) of sets is p-bounded Diophantine if St has a representing p-bounded polynomial RS;t, s.t. x 2 St () (9y)[RS(x; y) = 0℄. We say that (St) is unbounded Diophantine if additionally, RS;t is a fixed t-independent polynomial. We show that p-bounded (resp., unbounded) Diophantine set has a polynomial-size (resp., constant-size) statistical zero-knowledge proof system that a committed tu...

Updatable Zero-Knowledge Databases

Micali, Rabin, and Kilian [9] recently introduced zero-knowledge sets and databases, in which a prover sets up a database by publishing a commitment, and then gives proofs about particular values. While an elegant and useful primitive, zero-knowledge databases do not offer any good way to perform updates. We explore the issue of updating zero-knowledge databases. We define and discuss transpare...
